Congratulations are in order for Raymond Gaitain, store director at #524 (Amigos, Amarillo). He was recently named the 2018 Hispanic Man of the Year, during October’s Hispanic Heritage Luncheon; a prestigious honor presented annually to a man who has distinguished himself in an organization, his profession, and his community.
Raymond certainly fits that bill! His servant leadership makes a difference every day in our company and definitely in his community.
Raymond said, “What a great honor it is to receive this award for something we all love doing and that’s serving people. We are truly blessed to work for such an amazing company that supports our community involvement. As for me personally, I love doing what I do! I am truly blessed in my life and I pay it forward in the community work that I do.”
The Hispanic Heritage Luncheon is an annual initiative of Los Barrios de Amarillo. The organization was established in 1971 by a small group of community leaders and area volunteers who recognized decreasing graduation rates as indicative of a need to invest in addressing cultural, educational, and socioeconomic inequities in the Mexican American community.
“This award is well deserved and I am very proud of Raymond. He exemplifies what it means to be well connected to the Hispanic Community and the Amarillo Community in general,” said regional vice president Paul Evans. “His passion for the Hispanic community and the Amigos banner does not go unnoticed. I am so proud to have Raymond on my team in the Amarillo Region. Congratulations!”
Raymond, your entire United Family echoes Paul’s sentiment. We are so proud to call you ours!
